What is the Anger Management Program?
The Anger Management Program is a structured and comprehensive online educational program designed to help participants better understand anger, identify personal triggers, and learn about practical skills for emotional regulation and lasting behavioural change.
Is this course therapy or psychological treatment?
No. This course is educational in nature and is not intended to provide psychological or psychiatric diagnosis, psychotherapy, counselling, legal advice, or any other professional treatment service. Participation in the course does not establish a therapist-client, psychologist-client, counsellor-client, or lawyer-client relationship. Individuals experiencing mental health concerns are encouraged to seek assistance from a qualified healthcare professional.
Who is this course intended for?
The course is designed for individuals who have been ordered by a court to complete an anger management program, persons on probation or parole, and those referred by lawyers, probation officers, social workers, employers, or other support services. It is also appropriate for anyone who wishes to strengthen emotional regulation skills, improve communication, manage conflict more effectively, and develop healthier responses to challenging situations.
Is this course accepted by courts?
The course has been developed to meet standards commonly required by courts, probation officers, and legal professionals throughout Canada. However, acceptance of any educational program remains solely at the discretion of the judge, probation officer, or other authorized legal authority. Participants are encouraged to verify acceptance with the appropriate authority before enrolling. Completion of the course does not guarantee any particular legal outcome.
Does completing the course guarantee a reduced sentence or dismissal?
No. Completion of the course does not guarantee an acquittal, discharge, sentence reduction, dismissal of charges, or any other legal result. Decisions regarding legal matters are made exclusively by judges and authorized legal authorities based on the specific circumstances of each case.
How is the course structured?
The program consists of six modules that progressively guide participants through the process of understanding and managing anger. Topics include emotional awareness and anger triggers, the legal and social consequences of unmanaged anger, communication and conflict resolution skills, coping and self-regulation techniques, repairing relationships and taking responsibility for one's actions, and the development of a long-term anger management plan. Each module combines educational content with practical exercises, self-reflection activities, and skill-building opportunities designed to promote meaningful behavioural change.
How long does the course take to complete?
Most participants require approximately 26 to 30 hours to complete the course. Because the program is entirely self-paced, the actual completion time may vary depending on reading speed, engagement with exercises, and individual learning preferences.
Is the course delivered online?
Yes. The course is delivered online and may be accessed from a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Participants can log in at any time and complete the program according to their own schedule and availability.
What learning activities are included?
The course incorporates a variety of interactive and educational activities designed to reinforce learning and encourage personal insight. Participants complete scenario-based exercises, knowledge checks, self-reflection assignments, journaling activities, and practical self-regulation exercises. These activities help participants apply course concepts to real-life situations and develop skills that can be used beyond the course environment.
Is the course available in multiple languages?
Yes. To promote accessibility and inclusivity, the course is currently available in English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Punjabi, Hindi, Armenian, Georgian, Turkish, Russian, and Ukrainian.
Will I receive a certificate upon completion?
Yes. Participants who successfully complete all required modules and course activities will receive a bilingual Certificate of Completion in English and French. The certificate may be downloaded electronically, printed for personal records, or submitted to an authorized party when required.
Can proof of completion be sent directly to a court or legal authority?
Yes. With the participant's consent, proof of completion may be provided directly to a court, lawyer, probation officer, employer, or other authorized individual or organization through the course's Court Reporting service.
How is confidentiality handled?
Participant privacy and confidentiality are taken seriously and maintained within applicable legal requirements. Course records, journal entries, reflection exercises, and assessment results are not disclosed to third parties without the participant's authorization. Information will only be shared with a court, probation officer, lawyer, or other authorized authority when the participant has provided explicit consent or where disclosure is otherwise required by law.
Is this course suitable for personal development even without legal involvement?
Absolutely. While many participants enroll to satisfy legal or professional requirements, the course is equally valuable for individuals who wish to improve emotional awareness, reduce interpersonal conflict, strengthen personal and professional relationships, enhance communication skills, and develop healthier strategies for managing stress, frustration, and anger in everyday life.
